Healed from Sleep-Interrupting Back Pain: Liz's Story of Faith and Healing

In April 2022, a lady named Liz — who had been a part of our house church for some time—was battling an intense struggle that was affecting her physically, mentally, and spiritually. Liz had been enduring sharp back pain that would wake her every night at 3 a.m., preventing her from getting the rest her body and spirit needed. Exhausted and worn down, Liz continued to attend our gatherings, seeking strength and solace even as she dealt with her ongoing pain.

But then, something remarkable happened.

The Power of Faith and Childlike Prayer

Recently, the children in our church had been learning about God’s power to heal. We believe that children have a unique, unfiltered faith—a faith that is often stronger and more sincere because it is so pure. They had been studying the teachings of Jesus on healing and how God’s love and power flow through us when we pray for others. So, seeing Liz’s struggle, we asked the kids to minister healing to her.

On a quiet Sunday afternoon, we gathered together, and the children surrounded Liz. They prayed with conviction and simplicity, speaking healing over her body, praying for her back pain to go away, and for her to find peaceful, uninterrupted sleep. In those moments, we all felt the Holy Spirit moving in the room, filling us with peace and confidence that something powerful was happening.

The Healing Begins

The following week, Liz came back to church, and she had incredible news to share. She told us that after the children’s prayer, she went home, and the pain that had tormented her for so long was gone. She hadn’t woken up at 3 a.m., not once. The debilitating pain had completely left her! Liz was visibly overjoyed, filled with relief and gratitude.

This experience was more than just a physical healing for Liz; it was a spiritual renewal. It was a reminder of God’s love for her and His desire to care for her in every way. Her healing was a powerful testimony of faith for everyone in the house church and a remarkable confirmation for the children that their prayers truly matter. Even at their young age, they could see the immediate, tangible effects of praying for someone else.

Reflecting on the Miracle

Liz continues to be an active, vibrant part of our house church. Her healing story lives on, inspiring and reminding us of the power of God’s love. Through her journey, we saw God work in unexpected ways, using children to deliver healing and strengthen our faith as a community.

This story encourages us to remain open to the miraculous, to believe in the power of prayer, and to remember that God can work through anyone, no matter their age, to bring love, healing, and restoration. In Liz's words, her experience has been a journey of learning to trust in God’s healing and provision—and an affirmation of the strength we find in community.

We celebrate this miracle with grateful hearts and remain expectant for even more encounters with God’s healing power. Liz’s story reminds us to hold on to our faith, seek out our community, and believe in the incredible impact of prayer.
